Did you know that water heating accounts for nearly a quarter of the energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in the average Australian home?
By transferring heat from the air to heat water, a heat pump is the most energy-efficient hot water system. A heat pump is like an energy multiplier. From 1 kW of power input, it can create over 4 kWs of output heat*.
A heat pump utilises an ingenious technology to efficiently transfer thermal energy directly from the surrounding air and into the water. Since the heat pump system doesn’t use electricity to heat water directly, electricity usage is kept to a minimum.
Rain, hail or shine, you can enjoy piping hot water anytime. No gas lines or canisters are needed to run an electric heat pump. Set up and operation monitoring are made simple thanks to an amazing, in built user-friendly controller.
In additional to reducing your carbon emissions, the heat pump system doesn’t emit any harmful gases into the atmosphere. Gentle on the planet, and better for your pocket too!

HOW DOES IT HELP YOUR POWER BILLS?
Heat pumps are efficient electric storage tank systems that extract heat from thin air (literally) and use it to heat the water tank. This technology is based on the same principle that works on a reverse-cycle air conditioner you may have at home. Since heat pumps transfer heat from one place (air) to another (water) and no additional energy is required to create the heat, it is up to four times more energy efficient than traditional electric water hot water heaters.

Our heat pump hot water systems are eligible for Government rebates. Both the State and Commonwealth Governments have committed millions to reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions and help households save on their energy bills.
Find out from the UNIfied Team how you may be eligible to upgrade your old gas or electric hot water systems to a heat pump with these rebates.
SAVE MORE WITH GOVERNMENT REBATES
Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) is a Victorian Government initiative designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and encourage the efficient use of electricity. Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) are generated through the reduction in energy use and purchased by electricity retailers. UNIfied can offer businesses a subsidy of up to 80% off the total upfront cost of a LED lighting upgrade.
The Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) is a New South Wales Government scheme that creates a financial incentive for businesses to reduce their energy consumption. Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs) are generated through the reduction in energy use and purchased by electricity retailers. UNIfied can offer businesses a subsidy of up to 80% off the total upfront cost of a LED lighting upgrade.
The Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS) is a South Australia Government scheme that provides incentives for businesses in SA to save energy. The REPS allows your business the opportunity to be subsidised for 40-80% off when switching to LED.
FAQs
Yes, heat pump hot water heaters are worthwhile to install. With both State and Commonwealth Government rebates, households may be eligible to upgrade their old gas and/or electric hot water systems to a heat pump for a signficantly reduced cost. Genle on the planet; better for your pocket too!
In general, a hot water system lifespan depends on a number of different factors. These factors are namely: quality, material, type, and usage. Conservatively, heat pump hot water systems should last over 10 years; with some particular models you can expect the tank to last for 15 years or more. However, we recommend that you regularly service your heat pump water heater to ensure optimal efficiency and durability.
According to Sustainability Victoria, the cost of running an energy efficient het pump hot water system over 10 year is approx. $3,190. In comparison, a traditional electric hot water system over the same 10 year period would cost $12,265. That’s over 70% saving in a 10 year period!
There are a number of State and Commonwealth Government rebates available. Please contact the UNIfied Team to find out your eligibility, and to maximise your cost savings and fast-track your payback period.
UNIfied is committed to helping Australians transition to renewable energy. As part of this commitment, we strive to ensure you have peace of mind with a number of warranties we offer you. Depending on the system, please contact the UNIfied team to discuss our post-installation services available.
