How Many Solar Panels Should I Put on My Roof?

How many solar panels should i put on my roof

One of the most common questions we’ve received here at UNIfied Energy is how many solar panels we need on our roof. If you’re one of them, then you’re in the right place. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ amount for solar systems. Depending on your energy usage, the correct answer is as much as you possibly can!

With energy costs skyrocketing to new heights, it makes perfect sense to install as much solar as you possibly can as long as:

  1. The amount doesn’t exceed your Distributed Network Service Provider (DNSP) allowance; and
  2. The amount is practical and safe to fit on your roof

The sweet spot for a solar system

For most homes, this means that the sweet spot is 6.6kW of panels with a 5kW inverter. This usually means there will be approximately 16 solar panels on your roof.

But if you have a large rooftop and three-phase power, you can go for a much larger system.

Catch all the sun rays you possibly can

More importantly, because most solar systems these days can now pay for themselves regardless of your energy consumption habits, why not go big and fill your roof? Naturally, as long as it is safe to do so.

Don’t be a Wally with the sun! Catch all the sun rays you possibly can with a UNIfied solar system.
