Powering Business Grants: South Australia Offers Up to $75K for Energy Upgrades

South Australian businesses can now access up to $75,000 in matched funding through the Powering Business Grants program, designed to reduce energy costs and accelerate the shift to clean, efficient technologies.

 

Solar and Battery Grants for SA Businesses

Eligible small and medium enterprises can claim rebates for installing battery storage or combined solar and battery systems.

  • Battery rebate: $300 per kWh
  • Solar rebate: $250 per kW (only when paired with battery storage)
  • Funding range: Get $2,500–$75,000 for approved solar systems installed by Clean Energy Council professionals.

 

Energy Efficiency Upgrade Funding

Stream 2 supports up to 50% of project costs for energy-saving upgrades, including:

  • Refrigeration and HVAC systems
  • Insulation and building fabric improvements
  • LED lighting and smart controls

 

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, businesses must:

  • Operate in South Australia with a valid ABN
  • Have annual turnover above $75,000 and payroll under $18 million
  • Be responsible for electricity bills at their business premises
  • Provide matched funding for the proposed upgrades. However, home-based businesses and certain excluded entities are not eligible unless separately metered

How to Apply for Powering Business Grants in South Australia

Applying is simple but timing matters. Apply early and complete every step carefully:
