Empowering Ingleburn: Pipeclay Lawson Offsets 119 Tonnes of CO2 Annually

High Energy Demand
Pipeclay Lawson, a business operating out of Ingleburn, NSW, recently partnered with UNIfied Energy to implement a commercial rooftop solar PV system. Located at 7 Williamson Rd (under the Endeavour Energy network), the project was designed to significantly reduce the company’s operational energy costs and shrink its carbon footprint.
To meet the facility’s energy demands, UNIfied engineered a 99.71 kW (DC) system. The setup features 169 Jinko Tiger Neo N-type Bifacial 590W solar panels oriented at an azimuth of 42 degrees with a 20 degrees slope, all secured using a standard railing system. These panels route into a single, high-efficiency Sungrow SG110CX-P2 Multi-MPPT string inverter. The comprehensive installation required freight, a 1-meter scissor lift, and certified structural engineering to complete.
For long-term peace of mind, the system is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, an extended 10-year inverter warranty, and a substantial 30-year panel performance warranty.
Financial Summary & Environmenal Impact
Pipeclay Lawson was able to utilise $25,800.00 in government rebates by generating 688 Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) in Zone 3, yielding an estimated first-year savings of $19,914 and allowing the system to completely pay for itself in just 3.4 years.
The solar array is projected to generate 140.5 MWh of clean electricity annually, effectively offsetting a major portion of the business’s grid reliance.
Production is highly optimised, peaking during the summer months from November to January with outputs exceeding 15,000 kWh per month to perfectly match Pipeclay Lawson’s annual consumption profile.
While the design model factors in a total system loss of 12.8%, which includes 3.6% from inverter losses, it records absolutely zero losses from shading or optimisers.
Over its operational lifetime, the environmental benefits of this system are profound. It avoids 119 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. Across its lifespan, this total reduction is equivalent to planting 22,864 trees, avoiding 3,556,385 kilometers of car travel, or offsetting 2,545 long-haul flights.
