How Much Can You Save with Solar?

Is solar energy worth it? Yes! Not only does it help the environment, but the solar energy system is also a smart choice for your wallet.

With the constantly rising cost of electricity, you may as well consider the large incentives and rebates offered by installing solar systems. By installing solar energy at your home or workplace, you can instantly cut down on your energy bills significantly. Moreover, it can also serve as a great investment by saving you thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars over your lifetime. Getting solar energy systems for your home or business can help you save lots of money.

When you install solar panels, you can see a significant decrease in your electricity bill. This real-life example of a family that changed to using solar energy for their house and see a 53.56% decrease in their electricity bills compared to when they haven’t installed solar.

On average you can save between $10,000 and $30,000 over the lifetime of the solar system. If you live in Victoria (subject to average sunlight, electricity costs, incentives), your system will have paid for itself in as little as two to three years – making solar the perfect choice for your energy systems.

Tips and Tricks to save even more on your electricity bills

1. Switch to Energy-Saving LED Lights

LED bulbs use less power and last longer, and could save you up to 80% off your lighting costs. Less money and time replacing.

2. Turn off all appliances and lights when you are not using them

Turning off things at the PowerPoint can help you save more power and money compared to when it is left on standby.

3. Use cold water to wash your clothes and dry them naturally

It is reported that 90% of the electricity used by the washing machine is to heat the water. By using cold water, you can save around $115 per year. Dryers also consume a lot of energy, so drying them outside naturally or using a fan indoors is a better option.

4. Avoid using the dishwasher between 4 pm – 7 pm

On weekdays, energy costs less before 4 pm and after 9 pm. By doing this, you can save up to $100 a year.

5. Maintain your fridge temperature

Set the fridge temperature to 4-5 degrees and the freezer temperature to -15 to -18 degrees. Endure the fridge door is closed tight and no gaps are allowing the air to escape.
